The Greenboro Children's Centre opened its doors to children on January 3rd, 1989; providing quality care to young children and support to their families in Ottawa-South. Greenboro was the first free-standing 'purpose designed' child care centre to be sponsored by a Community Board of a Non-Profit organization in this region.
Greenboro has the unique feature of playroom observation booths. These booths enable the parent to view their child's play and progress.
The Centre's cathedral ceilings and large windows provide an abundance of natural sunlight and create an ideal environment for the children to enjoy while discovering their learning centres. The window seats are low enabling the children to observe the outdoors and look out onto our natural playground.
Greenboro's natural playground was designed to make use of our existing topography and natural materials to create an open-ended outdoor play area for children to make discoveries and interact with their environment. The environment has natural challenges for children; balancing risk and safety. Our play structures include tree stumps, logs, rocks, water and sand to offer a wide range of opportunities to connect children with nature, stimulate creativity and encourage development
Greenboro Children's Centre has a fully equipped kitchen enabling the chef to create nutritious snacks and hot meals right on the premises. The Centre is fully air- conditioned and meets accessibility guidelines and standards.
Parking is available to all families during drop-off and pick-up times.
